The selection process of SSC Stenographer 2019 consists of the following steps:-

ssc stenographer exam two hour duration and is conducted online. It has 3 sections carrying a total of 200 questions and a maximum of 200 marks. There is negative marking in SSC Stenographer exam as 0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answer. Section-wise details are given below:

(A) General Intelligence and Reasoning: It will include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test will include questions on similarities, similarities and differences, space visualization, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision-making, visual memory, discriminatory observation, relational concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal and figure classification. oral series, etc. The test will also include questions designed to test the candidate’s abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relation, arithmetical calculations and other analytical tasks.

(b) General Awareness: The questions will be designed to test the candidate’s ability to have general awareness of the environment around him and its application in society. The questions will also be designed to test knowledge of contemporary events and experience in such matters of everyday observation and their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions related to India and its neighboring countries, especially questions related to sports, history, culture, geography, economic scenario, general polity including Indian Constitution, and scientific research etc. These queries will be such that they don’t need one. Special study of any subject.

note: There will be no component of Maps/Graphs/Diagrams/Statistical Data in General Intelligence and Reasoning/General Awareness paper for Visual Disability selecting the author for VH candidates of 40% and above.

(c) English Language and Comprehension: Apart from testing the candidates’ understanding of English language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, their writing ability will also be tested.
